A Message From the Owner: "Why I Started CPB"

Surely they were aware that for most businesses the lease represents the company's single-greatest overhead expense.

And surely they were also aware that in many sales transactions, the acquisition of real estate represents the largest purchase that they will ever make, and the largest single asset that they will ever own!

And certainly they must have all been aware that EVERY leasing or sales transaction involves (among other legal aspects) a written contract which is a binding legal document, containing dozens of complex legal provisions, which span a broad spectrum of legal issues, involving countless subtle legal nuances!

Actually, in most cases I found that the clients were well aware of these points, but nonetheless opted to proceed without a lawyer anyway, relying instead on their own knowledge base, or (worse yet) on their real estate broker for "advice".

Again, why were they doing this? Why would otherwise intelligent, savvy, business-minded people opt for such a risk?
