The answer is, quite simply - TO SAVE MONEY!

That's right, to save a few dollars up front, these otherwise "very smart people" would proceed knowing full well that they are taking a great risk, but "keeping their fingers crossed" that they would be "lucky" enough to avoid any negative consequences.

It is kind of like driving without liability insurance, or worse yet, while intoxicated - sure, you CAN do it, but is it really worth the risk?

Indeed, every party that has ever been involved in a lawsuit over something that could have (and SHOULD HAVE) been addressed prior to lease signing, would LOVE the opportunity to turn back time and have a "Do Over" - that is, spend the money to have a lawyer involved.

I know all of my unfortunate litigation clients would have done so in a heartbeat!

But money is a powerful motivator, and sometimes trying to save a few dollars today can force a bad decision that will come back to haunt you tomorrow; after all, where do you think the saying "penny wise and dollar foolish" came from?
